Preserve Louisiana in the Old Governor’s Mansion is hiring an events manager! Join our team to promote one of Baton Rouge’s premier event venues. The Old Governor’s Mansion hosts weddings, rehearsal dinners, corporate events, monthly lectures, graduation and birthday parties, corporate seminars, fundraising events, Preserve Louisiana’s Annual Gala, and more!

The Events Manager represents the Mansion in all rental inquiries and interactions, facilitates coordinator assignments for events, offers tours of the Mansion to prospective clients, and increases the visibility of the Mansion as an event venue.

Our ideal candidate has proven success in sales and event management, shows great attention to detail, works well under pressure, has a passion and appreciation for historic spaces, communicates professionally, and is highly motivated.

The Old Governor’s Mansion as an event venue supports the work of Preserve Louisiana in preserving the cultural and architectural heritage of our State.

This position is paid hourly, Tuesday – Friday, 8:30 – 4:30, with weekend work opportunities available.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Event Experience

  • Sales Experience

  • High school diploma

  • Refined verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Excellent client service skills

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of clients in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk moderate distances

  • Ability to lift, pull, and push a moderate weight (about 50 pounds)

  • Proficient in basic computer skills

  • Team oriented
