Lagniappe Lecture: The Irish in Louisiana

Join us for our latest Lagniappe Lecture on Irish culture and history in Louisiana. The evening begins with a lecture on the history of the Irish in New Orleans. Dr. Laura Kelley, historian and author of The Irish in New Orleans, will discuss the history of the Irish in the region from ‘Bloody’ O’Reilly in the 18th century to the Irish-dominated politics of the 20th century. Following the lecture, guests are invited to experience and enjoy Louisiana-Irish music, dancing, food, and spirits in the Rose Garden of the Old Governor’s Mansion. Cocktails will be provided by Happy’s Irish Pub, Baton Rouge.

The lecture begins at 6:00 pm and the tastings will be served at 7:00 pm.
